Vindy's Picks 2019 Week 1 Early Edition

THE WEBER KID’S 2019 WEEK 1 FORECAST EARLY EDITION

#8 Florida vs. Miami (“under 47 ½”) (@ Orlando, FL): With just two games total on the weekend and just one featuring a ranked-team, we’ll simply offer a few thoughts and a score-prediction for this contest. First meeting since Pelicans won at home 21-16 in September 2016, which will likely be bulletin-board material in the Florida locker-room. Former DC Manny Diaz assumes the HC spot this year.  Gators, who won just four games outright in 2017 but put ten in 2018’s dubya-column, bring back just one starting member of the O-line. QB Feleipe Franks has been improving, showing about a 3-1 TD-to-INT ratio last year after tossing just one more pass for TD than he did for INT in 2017. Still...neither club has been good in games decided by 7 or less, with Crocs, while winning 6 of last 8, covering just 3 and Da’ U even-worse at 4-5 straight-up and going mere 1-8 ATS! Collectively, the pair aren’t reliable on neutral ground, showing total of 1-6 SU/ATS the past two campaigns. Miami opened 2018 preseason rankings in the #8 hole and finished the year outside the Top 25 in da’ final poll. 0‘Canes allowed 19ppg-against last season. Likewise, Florida gave up just 20 ppg, and that’s including 36 to Joja’, 38 to Mizzou and 31 to SoCal! After sending a tweet dissin’ Justin Fields after da Joja’ quarterback’s Dawg’s plan to go from Athens to Columbus in January, da’ Universe caught-up to former Buckeyes’ QB Tate Martell, who was recently-informed by Miami coaches that red-shirt-Freshman Justin Williams will start ahead of him after Williams was on the field in a lone-game last season. With QB issues on both sides and traditional early-season advantages on D, we have no confidence in either offense to move the ball much. If this match goes “over”, it’s because of a Gators’ defensive-score. We expect lotsa’ hard-hitting between in-state rivals and low-scoring, leading to...Crocs 23 Pelicans 16

BTW, we put our Yen where our mouth was and placed a wager at “under 48”!

Fear not, faithful readers! Vindy’s Picks will be back next week in its full-blown format with associated-regalia!
